No sr20 because I'm ashamed of this.
Friend pulled my mirror off, leaving a plastic nub/ball on the windshield. I thought to push the socket of the mirror back onto the nub, but now I have an 8'' spiderweb crack radiating out from the mirror mount. On top of that, the mirror still isn't attached to the mount. Called up the insurance company, who said "we're not sure if you're covered but we'll let you know." Which is great, because now this goes on my vehicle history report and I still probably have to pay for the replacement. Anyway, Safelite will be out here in a week.
Anyone know how much a new windshield (and installation) goes for these days?

$200 or so, maybe a little more or less. A windshield will NOT hurt anything on the history report. I hate the mirrors attached to the windshield. Older Japanese cars did it better, where it attached to the roof/ceiling just above the windshield
Why did he pull the mirror off?

If you look around, you can get a windshield for $100-$200 fully installed.
Or you could go without a windshield, because racecar.

That ball socket is near impossible to get back together on most cars. Might as well get a new mirror, too.

I think I should be able to put it together if I can get that one piece off of the glass. It's supposed to slide off, but I think there are clips holding it on as well.

Like others have said, a couple benjamins will fix it. Have that spaz of a friend at least split the cost with you since they seem to have initiated this unfortunate event.
